The two-member bench of Islamabad High Court today has acquitted Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar in the Avenfield property case. NAB played a pivotal role in this acquittal and the NAB prosecutor did not produce any strong evidence on “pressure”. Panama JIT collected all the evidence and then Accountability Court convicted Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar in Avenfield Case. Interestingly, the NAB prosecutor could not answer the questions raised by IHC and weakened their case. NAB did this after a threatening press conference by Maryam Nawaz. PTI and Imran Khan are calling it NRO.2.
