Journalists bodies of Pakistan on Monday have started the second phase of countrywide protest against the illegal suspension of ARY News transmission. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and RUIJ have announced today that journalists’ bodies are starting countrywide protests against electronic media regulator PEMRA.
“The second phase of PFUJ’s protest movement against the illegal closure of ARY has started. Journalists Unions will protest in front of all PEMRA regional offices and Islamabad headquarters on daily basis. Protest will continue till the end of ARY News’s illegal closure.” Said PFUJ’s president Afzal Butt.
He further said that, “despite the clear orders of Sindh High Court, ARY News’s transmission is still suspended. It is a clear violation of the law and we will not sit idle.”
