Federal Minister for information and Broadcasting today announced that the federal cabinet has decided to move a reference to Supreme Court for the disqualification of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While addressing a press conference after the federal cabinet meeting, the information minister told the media that PTI has been declared a foreign-funded party by ECP and now it is our constitutional obligation to move a reference against PTI and Imran Khan.
“ECP judgment proves that PTI received funding from foreign elements and foreign nationals. It is a clear violation of the law and constitution of Pakistan. Today, the law minister has briefed the cabinet regarding the ECP judgement. After this briefing, the cabinet has decided to move a reference against PTI chief Imran Khan un article 62(1)(f) of the constitution of Pakistan.” Said the information minister.
Maryam Aurangzeb also added that PTI has violated PPO 2002 by hiding the details of all bank accounts and submitted a fake financial declaration.
