Addressing the party’s national council in Islamabad, Former Prime Minister and PTI party chief Imran Khan said that those who let all this happen are equally responsible for the economic crunch. “Those who were watching all this and they knew that conspiracy exists but they decided to sit back, they are equally responsible. Today Pakistan is among the top 4 countries with high default risk.”
Former PM further added that “today our army chief is requesting the Americans for getting IMF loan. This depicts the real picture of our economic meltdown and government has lost its credibility.”
Imran Khan also said that the PDM alliance ousted my government not on corruption charges but to settle their own cases. “These corrupt politicians NAB amended NAB law for their personal benefits and got NRO 2.”
While comparing the current economic situation with his 3 and half years tenure, he said during the PTI government, Pakistan witnessed record tax collection, exports were increasing and growth was recorded at 6 percent.
“Today Dollar rate is touching 250 but when the no-confidence motion was tabled, the dollar was staying at 178. The interest rate was 11 percent but now its 15.5 percent. During our tenure, remittances were all-time high and stability was returning. Today inflation is almost 37 percent which is the highest in the history of this country.”
While talking about PTI’s party structure, the PTI chief accepted that his party’s structure is weakened during the last three and half years.
“District level coordination is not satisfactory and party legal wing could not be strengthened during last three and half years. Now it’s time to work on our weak areas.” He added.
The former Prime Minister also reiterated his stance that Chief Election Commissioner is not an honest man and he must resign. He announced that PTI workers will protest in front ECP office on August 4, 2022.
