(29th July, Web Desk) – In a tweet the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus announced that she has resigned from the post of SAPM on Digital Pakistan.

In her resignation she said, “Criticism levied towards the state as a consequence of my citizenship status is clouding the purpose of Digital Pakistan. In the greater public interest, I have submitted my resignation from the SAPM role. I will continue to serve my country and the PM’s vision to my best ability”

Digital Pakistan Foundation Issue

While Tania Aidrus claims that she has resigned, sources from the Prime Minister’s office claims that Tania has been asked to resign due to a foundation she got registered and was a board member of. The name of the foundation is “Digital Pakistan Foundation” and it had Jehangir Tarin and his lawyer Sikander Basheer Mohmand as board members as well.

Soon after the news hit social media, Tania Aidrus was a guest on a programme PowerPlay with Arshad Sharif on AryNews where she struggled to explain the existance of the foundation and why was she a member of this foundation.

As per sources of PM office, Tania claimed in the show that Prime Minister Imran Khan was in knowledge of the foundation and he has been explained about it but Prime Minister had zero knowledge of the same.

Sources also claimed that SAPM Tania Aidrus was confronted regarding the issue but she failed to give a satisfactory explanation and was asked to resign.
