Deputy Chairman Senate injured in explosion

12 May 2017, Quetta: At least 25 people were killed while many were injured including Deputy Chairman Senate, Maulana Ghafoor Haidri. The explosion took place near a mosque shortly after Friday prayers when Haidri’s convoy was leaving from the mosque.

Haidri talking to media said he sustained injuries all over his body but is fine and said according to him at-least 20 to 25 people have loft their lives in the incidet.  He has been shifted to CMH Quetta for further treatment.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of explosion while DPO Mastung Ghazanfar Ali  has said that the explosion looks like a suicide blast according to initial investigations.

District Health Officer, Mustang Dr. Sher Ahmed has confirmed that they have received 25 dead bodies while 37 injured are still in the hospital.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman has termed it as a sad incident and has said that we have to continue despite these threats.
