Former PM Imran Khan’s Chief of Staff Dr. Shahbaz Gill has been arrested by Islamabad Police on “sedition” charges. According to police sources, FIR was drafted after the arrest of Dr. Shahbaz Gill.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan reacted to this arrest and said that, “This is an abduction not an arrest. Can such shameful acts take place in any democracy? Political workers treated as enemies. And all to make us accept a foreign backed government of crooks.”
Just after the arrest of Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Senior PTI leader and former Law minister said in a tweet that Imran Khan’s chief of staff was picked from Banigala chowk by unidentified people who came in vehicles which were without number plates.
Former Human Rights minister and Senior PTI leader Dr. Shireen Mazari said that , “ARY off screen by this civilian dictatorship Imported govt and now Shahbaz Gill “arrested” or abducted from Bani Gala chowk. So it is clear a critical word and no arrest warrant u will be taken away! This is the grand design of US regime change conspiracy & its abettors.”
According to Shahbaz Gill’s assistant Izhar Khan, they were on their way to Banigala when around 20 vehicles tried to block their vehicle.
“All these tinted glass vehicles were without number plates. Unidentified armed personnels came out of these vehicles and broke the window screens of our car with Kalashnikov. Then they abducted Dr. Shahbaz Gill and handcuffed him.” Said Gill’s assistant.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police has confirmed this arrest but didn’t disclose the location where Dr. Shahbaz Gill is kept after the arrest.
