Former Information Minister and senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudry raised questions and concerns over Supreme Court’s detailed verdict regarding the deputy speaker’s ruling. While addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PTI leader said “Supreme Court’s detail verdict is full of flaws and did not address the fundamental issue.”
Fawad Chaudry said that cypher was shared with the Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandiyal but he ignored it. “Supreme Court in its detailed written order mentioned that cypher was not presented and shown to apex court and judges. The judges who were part of this bench should ask the Chief Justice of Pakistan that why cypher is not shared with them.”
The former information minister added that the why supreme court judges did not sit together when the ruling alliance was involved in unlawful practices and Sindh house was being used for house trading. Referring to an additional note of Justice Mazahar Alam Khan Miankhel, he said “Honourable judge did not spare anyone including Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi and suggested to initiate proceedings under article 6 against them. This is not a rational opinion and by doing so, there will be too many necks and less ropes.”
He also urged the higher judiciary to show restraint and not do jump into the political arena. “It is not the job of judges to interfere in political matters by suggesting controversial punishments for Pakistan’s biggest political party’s head. No judge can do so unless he is on a mission to do so.”
Fawad Chaudry bluntly said that this judgment will be quashed by parliament when Imran Khan will be elected as PM again with two-third majority. “This detailed verdict will be quashed and then parliament will be decided whether article 6 applies on Imran Khan or it applies on the violation of article 69. If Supreme Court does not take notice of this cypher, then we will tell what has happened and who did all this. Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton accepted that they are still involved in toppling foreign governments but our apex court is not a mood to take notice of all this.”
PTI leader further added that judges and Generals cannot make all decisions in closed-door rooms.
