Two more Punjab ministers resign from their ministries to run the campaign for their party candidates in Punjab by-elections. The purpose of resigning is to avoid action against them under the ECP code of conduct.
Punjab Law Minister Malik Mohammad Ahmed Khan and provincial minister Sardar Awais Laghari stepped down as ministers. Last week, PMLN stalwart Ayaz Sadiq resigned as federal minister followed by the resignation of provincial minister Khawaja Sulman Rafique. Punjab’s interior minister Atta Tarar confirmed that both lawmakers stepped down to run the election campaign in Punjab.

This development comes after the latest survey results favored PTI candidates. Today while addressing a large gathering in Bakhar, Former Prime Ministers reiterated that PTI will clean sweep in Punjab By-polls and that the ruling alliance is trying to manipulate by-elections. “Ruling Sharif family is skilled in corrupt practices and they have nothing to do with honesty. First, it was Mr. X who was receiving the orders to manipulate the elections for corrupt mafia and thieves and now Mr. X has brought Mr. Y to Multan to do pre-poll rigging.”
