Success Story of Remarkable Woman Working in Development Sector.(Late Tasneem Raza)
A young development professional with over fifteen years of experience in community based enterprise development, Tasneem Raza (LATE) had focused on disseminating business and skill trainings to women across Pakistan while being a Senior Associate in the field of Women Economic Empowerment and Enterprise Development, women entrepreneurship, group mobilization and advanced marketing, she had successfully managed several national enterprise-focused projects for a huge range of beneficiaries at grassroots level. Her major projects were:
- ADB Changemaker Project Shikarpur
- ADB Rill Project Shikarpur and Khairpur
- ILO Changemaker Project Lahore and Rahimyar Khan
She joined ECI as a Project Officer in 2007 but also had expertise as a trainer and field expert on Enterprise Development across the country. She had delivered numerous trainings and mentored many pupils from interior Punjab to the valleys of Hunza. In 2013, after observing her integrity, morality and hard work, she was promoted to the rank of Project Manager and she had also served as the National Coordinator for ECI Pehchan.
In addition to her devotion to her work, Tasneem always found time for her colleagues, her friends, and her family, especially her children. As a working woman, she was able to perform her role as a committed wife and mother as well as fulfilling all her assigned tasks at work. Her professionalism, polite mannerism and courteous behavior has left a deep impact on every person she met.
Her contributions are not limited to ECI only; she had played her role in developing women change-makers. Her role is unquestioned, and is reflected in her outstanding national reputation and many awards and honors. Her contributions are powerful and her work ethic is more than remarkable. Energy, commitment, integrity are all words to describe her personality. She was one of kind and will be sorely missed as a colleague, professional and friend.
To honor her work and dedication, ECI is paying her a tribute through this article. Tasneem, a caring and beloved family woman, a cherished colleague and friend-will be missed by many, but never will she be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have known her!
